Beech (Fagus sylvatica) - Available in 6 sizes A classic hedge which changes colour with the seasons, light green in Spring, darker green in Summer and golden in Autumn. The leaves finally turn a red/russet colour and stay on the hedge through the winter. Beech should be planted 45cms apart. Will grow in most soils except water-logged ones and does not like salt winds so avoid planting near the sea. Price includes VAT @ 13.5%. Bareroot available from October to end of March only. Copper beech (Fagus sylvatica atropurpurea) - Available in four sizes Copper beech hedging is a classic hedge, purple in Spring and Summer and turning to gold in Autumn. It should be planted 45cm apart. Beech is long-lived and will grow in most soils but it does not like wet ground or salt winds. Price includes VAT @ 13.5%. Box (Buxus sempervirens) - One size only: 20-25 cm high A classic evergreen hedge with small dark green leaves. Will grow in any soil type. Looks best when clipped to a formal shape. Plant 15 to 20 cms apart. Price includes VAT @ 13.5%. Bareroot available from October to end of March only. Price: £2.20 each
